KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.66 g, 12 h), Aspendos, CY 23 = 190/89. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ - AΣ / KΓ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle with closed wings in right. Price 2902. A beautiful piece with a bold head of Herakles. The reverse somewhat double struck and with some minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
